What to Expect from Our Termite Control Services

When you call us for termite control, we’ll go through the following process to protect your property and deliver peace of mind:

1. Inspection – We’ll start by inspecting exposed wood, crawl spaces, basements, foundations, and moisture-prone areas for signs of termite activity or conditions that may attract termites. The information we gather will be crucial for the interventions we make later on. 
2. Sentricon® system installation – Once we identify an active termite infestation or the potential for an infestation, we’ll install the Sentricon® system to eliminate the colony and/or prevent one from forming. 
3. Monitoring and reinspection – Our technicians will return regularly to inspect bait stations, monitor activity levels, and make certain the system continues working properly. 
4. Ongoing protection – We’ll continue servicing and refilling the bait stations throughout the year to put a stop to future infestations. 

We stand behind our services and will work with you to help resolve pest and wildlife concerns in accordance with your service agreement and recommended preparation guidelines. Follow-up service visits may require customers to address pest-conducive conditions identified during service.

What Property Owners in the Northeast Should Know About Termites

The most common termite species throughout the Northeastern United States is the Eastern Subterranean termite. As their name suggests, these insects live underground and build hidden mud tubes that allow them to travel safely between the soil and their food source: wood.

Subterranean termites rarely expose themselves openly, which makes infestations difficult to detect. In many cases, property owners won’t discover subterranean termites until they’ve already caused significant damage.

Common Signs of Termite Activity

Property owners should watch for:

• Mud tubes near foundations or crawl spaces 
• Discarded wings near windows or doors 
• Hollow-sounding wood 
• Bubbling or damaged paint 
• Small piles of termite droppings (frass) 
• Swarming insects during spring 

The spring swarming season is especially important in the Northeast. Warmer temperatures and moist soil conditions encourage termite colonies to expand and establish new nesting areas around homes.
